PLUTO’S LAMENT Porter
ABV: 5.7% | IBU: 30May is turning out to be quite the busy month! With all the festivals, beer releases, and tap takeovers who can keep track of anything? For starters, there’s a handy little weekly calendar to your right that lets you know what’s going on with us, so you can plan accordingly.Only one beer release this week and it sure is a good one. Our THURSty THURSday porter is simplicity at its finest. Using specialty malts from Patagonia, Chile along with bitterless black malt for a deep brown hue and medium-body, “Pluto’s Lament” has the pleasant sharpness of dark chocolate without the lingering bitter finish. There are no adjuncts in this one, so all you’re getting is the unadulterated result of hard work, creativity, and yeast.
Last week’s THURSty THURSday sold out by Friday at 5pm and we’re confident “Pluto’s Lament” will go just as quickly. Don’t sleep on this one or you’ll be sorry!
In other news: Join us on Sunday for a big day of fun starting with brunch at 11am followed by an adoption event at 1pm sponsored by Carolina Big Hearts Big Barks, and a charity day for the 24 Foundation!
Your Teachers were Wrong: For the longest time, Pluto was considered the ninth planet of our solar system but that was changed in 2006 when it was downgraded to a dwarf planet. Named by 11-year-old Venetia Buxley in 1930 (also the year Mickey Mouses’s doggie companion of the same name debuted), Pluto gets its name from the Roman god of the Underworld.
