From Fullsteam Brewery:
PAW PAW: THE AMERICAN PROMISE
If you’re not familiar with the paw paw fruit, it’s North America’s largest native tree fruit. It’s a little like a mango meets banana meets durian. Paw paws grow from the Midwest through the coastal South as a shade-loving, understory tree. And while the fruit can be large in size, they’re only super tasty right when they fall to the ground…which is precisely when critters (especially nighttime ones) love to scurry off and feast on them.
Thankfully we know a guy: Wynn Dinnsen, who regularly supplies us with paw paws at harvest in late summer.
“American Promise” is a nod to the promise of the native paw paw, to service of the greater good, and to the promise of marriage for all who choose it.
And not to be overshadowed with words like “paw paw” “milkshake” and “NE IPA,” we’re equally thrilled to release Fearrington Summer, our India Tea Ale brewed with lemon and tea leaves farmed and harvested by Charleston Tea Plantation. At only 4.5% ABV, this is a crushable, sessionable IPA with a nod toward iced tea.
Two radically different beers. Both somehow considered “IPAs.” 🙂
