I love love love ADSR…arguably the first of our “future” series where we broke apart from our retrofuture look-and-feel and went neo-future and clean. The beer — a bright, citrus coffee lager — defies expectation (versus delivering on promise, a hallmark of our core offerings.)
It’s our third year releasing ADSR. It shares the spotlight this year with a release of You Are Here #4, the final installment of our collaboration with the NC Museum of Art. Our brewery crew is particularly excited about this NE IPA — in particular it’s sexy hop profile.
So we hope to see you Thursday for some new releases, both on draft and in 16oz cans. Wednesday for you Scythe & Sparrow cats.
Need a lift to your week? Let the Bulltown Comedy Series give you a boost. This month features headliner Eric Megert along with Virginia Wallace, Freddy Valoy, Marcie Maier, and a special guest. Recommended pairings: Grown-Up Mac ‘N’ Cheese, because the jokes might be cheesy…and they might make you groan. Like that previous sentence may have done.
WEDNESDAY (tavern and kitchen open 4pm)
Bull City Run Club – 6 p.m.
With the nights getting lighter later, it’s back on! Join 100+ runners of all skill levels for a three-, four-, or six-mile run through Durham, then come back for a food/beer flight (see the most excellent description below). Run local, drink local.
THURSDAY (tavern and kitchen open 4pm)
New! Beer! Thursday!
Nearly every Thursday, we release a new beer. Stay tuned to our social media channels (including the handy “New.Beer.Thursday.” Fullsteam Facebook event page) for updates. This week, we have:
You Are Here #4 (New England-style IPA)- the fourth (and final) beer in this series collaboration with the North Carolina Museum of Art to celebrate and highlight its exhibition You Are Here: Light, Color, and Sound Experiences. Those of you tracking the You Are Here series may notice that each beers is getting bolder and punchier, and we’re pretty confident the trend will continue as we close out the series. Cans available! Draft and cans.
ADSR Attack Decay Sustain Release (Coffee Helles lager)- This beer’s honey hue belies the fact that ADSR is unmistakably a coffee beer. Brewed with 25 pounds of Counter Culture Idido coffee (that’s almost a half pound per barrel), the aroma is an electrifying introduction to the bright, fruity, and high-acid Ethiopian coffee. We first brewed this beer to celebrate Moogfest in 2016. Draft and cans.
Answer some questions and have some fun. Win stuff if you’re feeling smart. Our hosts – Rachel and Zak – typically alternate on a weekly basis. Want some helpful hints and the inside scoop…follow Fullsteam Trivia on its very own Twitter account, the creatively named FullsteamTrivia!
FRIDAY (tavern opens 2pm; kitchen 4pm)
Start your weekend with us!
Choose your seasonal adventure. Try our newly-released You Are Here #4, the fourth NEIPA in our series collaboration with the North Carolina Museum of Art or Farm’s Edge: Deadnettle, a foraged Gose with lemon. And if it’s 5 o’clock and you can’t decide between an evening coffee or beer, we have the perfect answer for you: you can have both in our newly-released, refreshing coffee Helles lager, ADSR (Attack Decay Sustain Release).
While you’re here, try any of our beers along with our Southern-style bar food. And after dinner and drinks with us, you’ll still have time to watch your Friday night stories. (<– this clip is worth watching, folks.)
SATURDAY (tavern and kitchen open at noon)
Sa-TOUR-day! – 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. ($10/person)
Join us every Saturday for a behind-the-scenes look at our brewing facility. We’ll introduce you to the local ingredients that make our beer distinctly Southern: local grains, foraged fruits, native wild yeast. Plus, beer samples!
Shall we sweeten the deal? During your visit, you’ll also receive 20% off all merchandise and to-go beers (cans, bottles, crowlers, growlers). Sometimes it’s hard to commit, we know. No worries. Feel free to show up at the tavern a little before tour time and we’ll do our best to accommodate walk-ins. But if you want a guaranteed spot, sign up now.
SUNDAY (tavern and kitchen open at noon)
Full Recovery Yoga – 10:45 a.m.
Playful, relaxed, and suitable for all levels. Stay for a post-yoga pint! Not quite sold and want some additional info? Learn more here.
Music: Bear Stevens – 5 p.m.
Bear Stevens is the moniker of North Carolina native, Steven Bernard Hall, Jr. Meaning “bold as a bear,” Bernard has been the Hall family middle name for five generations, down to his great-great grandfather.
With influences like Jackson Browne, Noah Gundersen, and James Taylor, Stevens’ self-described “southern folk” music is not quite Americana, and not quite pop. Imagine Jason Isbell wrote a song for Matt Nathanson.
